By definition a First-Generation College Student is one whose parents have not received a college degree from a 2-year or 4-year institute. This category can then be separated into other identifiers which could include various academic and socio-economic factors.
The mission of the First-Generation College Student Network is to provide an opportunity for members to increase awareness about the experiences of first-generation college students and to share knowledge and best practices for first-generation college student success.
