The t-shirt and banner competitions are an opportunity for students to showcase their school spirit! Your shirt and banner can be themed after your institution or have a SREAUXDI GRAS theme to them.

As we all gather to begin the conference, we want to take some time to acknowledge your institution and welcome you to SROW and Tulane University. Please be prepared to represent your institution with a chant or cheer that lasts no longer than 30-seconds. This can be something that your team creates, or a beloved university chant that tells everyone who you are.

Button swap is a long-standing SROW tradition- after schools have checked in for the conference, students will have the opportunity to mingle with students from other schools and trade buttons that represent their school or orientation program! This year, in the spirit of Taylor Swift and building connections, we want to expand the button swapping tradition to also include friendship bracelets! Institutions are invited to bring friendship bracelets representing SROW, your institution, or your orientation program to trade with others. We hope this will be a fun way for you to commemorate your SROW experience.

The Song, Skit, Step & Dance (S3D) Competition offers teams an opportunity to enhance teamwork, showcase talent, and exude school spirit while sharing information about their school & orientation program. Each participating team will choose a category (from the following list) for their performance to be voted on. The categories are song, skit, step, or dance; institutions can only participate in one category.

The Graduate Student Symposium is open and relevant for current Masters’ students, whether you are currently a graduate student working in the field or one that desires that experience in the future. During the Graduate Symposium, masters participants will gain an understanding of the field of Orientation, Transition, & Retention.

The Returning Student Leadership Institute is a learning opportunity that cultivates leadership and teamwork and prepares students to be confident and successful in their roles. Students will have an opportunity to meet other students in similar roles and will be able to share their experiences.
